This Can't Be Life

I screamed when I finished reading the last page of this book, suddenly realizing it was the LAST page.  This Can't Be Life by Shakara Cannon is entertaining, heartbreaking, full of suspense and intriguing.
Shakara Cannon is an up and coming author and as an author myself I have to say I am both challenged and excited by her writing.  Her voice is consistent, spread amongst several characters her words come to life from one page to the next.  The characters are very realistic giving you the impression that you know them personally, their strengths and weaknesses.  It was not hard to see reflections of myself in Simone, Talise or Stacey. 
This Can't  Be Life can be a best seller and is a must read for the summer.  Shakara is definitely a force to be reckoned and an author to keep an eye out for.  I highly recommend running out and picking up this novel.  Also available on Kindle!
