All in a Day's Work

Latest Project: All in a Day’s Work

I am working on my latest title for Lena Land Books, All in a Day’s Work.  This fiction novel will dive into the world of a small Public Relations office and all the gripes and complaints of its employees.  However this will be a tale of suspense and intrigue, revaluating current stereotypes especially in the workplace and exploring the everyday issues that come up at the job.

Everyone has been employed at one time or another, sharing workplace horror stories and this is an extension of those moments.

If you have any stories, anecdotes or problems regarding a job you have or had in the past I would love to read about it and maybe create a character based loosely around your story.  Please send any submissions to: lenalandbooks@yahoo.com or http://lenalandbooks.blogspot.com/

Thank you

London Reign by A.C. Britt

Good morning all,
I just finished reading A.C. Britt's London Reign and I found it fascinating.  This book is not for homophobic people and is written with the LGBT community in mind.  One of the reasons I love writing and reading as much as I do is because of the freedom to express yourself for exactly who you are.  Britt captures the essence of this by penning a gritty and what is considered as a taboo subject to many.  I will not go into details about the book because someone might actually run out and read it but I will tell you that love and life struggles transcend all races, sexes and nationalities.

Subkorean

I am about fifty pages short of finishing Subkorean by Charles Kim and the book is fascinating.  Kim reveals the Korean perspective of today's America.  After reading a few pages you are easily able to identify with Kim's characters who are all different (economically, culturally and academically) from one another despite them all being Korean.  The characters like most foreign born people in America experience the "Go back to where you belong" threat that many of us have had to let ring in our ears, which I think is a true welcome to this country.  After hearing that you are official because the "others" finally acknowledge your presence.  Without giving away the best parts of the story I recommend this book to anyone who refuses to see black and white.  This book is for the open minded and open hearted!
